About AAJ Interactive

AAJ Interactive Technologies is a provider of professional staffing, and recruiting, services headquartered in the Washington DC area. We place top resources with the area’s best employers. Our diverse client base represents a wide range of industries, including technology and media, financial services, professional services, federal services, and non-profit organizations – to name a few.

 

Our team has deep technical and industry experience, as well as large networks of potential candidates, in the areas for which they recruit, so they understand the nuances of those industries and roles. Management Team

Alan Glenn – Partner

Alan is the co-founder and managing partner of AAJ Interactive Technologies.  Through years of experience (both tactical and managerial) and an unwavering commitment to technological innovation, Alan has an established reputation as a well-respected professional and a valued partner to both vendors and senior business management throughout our industry.

As a Vice President at Bell Atlantic and Tele-TV, Alan led a technology team that invented and commercialized the world’s first fully interactive video-on-demand technology platform.  Alan’s incredible ability to find and recruit stellar talent, coupled with his exceptional team-building acumen resulted in his team’s ground-breaking success.

While building AAJ Interactive Technologies, Alan served as the Chief Technology officer for eVidient (a GE/Capital incubated media distribution startup), GR8 (a web design house) and VIPDesk.com (an integrated concierge service.)

Alan was also instrumental in the early success of james martin & Co., a world-class strategic consulting and integration organization. There, he provided strategic technology management consulting to Fortune 500 executives in the telecommunications, insurance chemical, energy, publishing and consumer goods industries.

Alan has a Bachelors degree from The Pennsylvania State University.

Andrew Nussbaum – Partner

Andy is the co-founder, and current managing partner of AAJ Interactive Technologies.

Andy worked closely with Alan at both Bell Atlantic and Tele-TV.  As Senior Director, Andy relied on his acute diplomatic and technical/business skills to successfully managing not only portions of the business and delivery systems development, but also the tricky communications between the partners’ desires, the creative team’s “big ideas” and the technical staff’s capabilities.

Andy also served as a developer, systems test team leader and senior systems analyst for American Management Systems in their Telecommunications group. His in-depth knowledge of cutting-edge technology and business expertise added unparalleled value to the teams overall capabilities.

Andy has a BS in Computer Science from SUNY Plattsburgh and an MBA/MIS, with honors, from Syracuse University.

Chris Faha – Vice President

Chris is a Vice President with AAJ Interactive Technologies.  Chris joined AAJ with over a decade of executive recruiting experience. He spent the majority of his career with Potomac Partners, an accounting and finance search firm, where he served as a VP in charge of business development and candidate generation across all industries.  He’s worked with all sizes of companies from Fortune 500 to startups.  While Potomac Partners was an accounting and finance focused firm, Chris was in charge of expanding the business into different areas such as IT and Real Estate.  Chris has always had a knack for finding talent no matter the requirements of the search.

Chris started his career in securities litigation consulting before moving into recruiting with the Allegis Group.

He has a BA in Economics from The College of William and Mary.

Our History

Andy and Alan were technology executives working for Bell Atlantic (now known as Verizon) in the early 90’s trying to figure out how to make a business out of streaming media to build one of the world’s first commercial video on demand services. We had come out of the Consulting and Telecom industries, and we were tasked with building the systems to support the future of the phone company, and to also envision what would become the Internet, and Broadband distribution of content.

While in our positions at Bell Atlantic, and from previous experience hiring employees, and using contracting/consulting firms, we realized there was a better business model.  We didn’t like paying $200/hr for someone who was making $60,000/yr working for one of the big consulting companies.  We didn’t like the fact that on top of that, we were paying for them to travel from all over the country to come work for us in the greater DC area.  We thought there had to be a better business model.

We established AAJ Interactive Technologies in 1997.  We started AAJ Interactive Technologies with the basic principles of:

The right person for the job is based on more than a skills match

Be sincere, honest, and have integrity

Tell everyone everything (they’ll eventually find out anyway)

Charge a fair price for the value we add

Do what’s right for the candidate/contractor/employee

Happy employees/contractors do better work

Leverage local talent whenever possible

Stay involved in the work being done for clients

Serve your existing clients before looking for the next one

We’ve stayed true to these principles, and have survived where many others have failed.  We continue to thrive, and have lived through major changes to our economy, the industry, and the competition.  We’ve partnered with great companies, had many fantastic clients, and had so many great people work for us over the years – it’s hard to count.  Many of those individuals we placed are now our clients, as they’ve grown into senior positions within our clients, or have moved on to new companies, and brought us in as a supplier.

We really like what we do. It’s rewarding to help someone find a position where they are happy and can thrive.  We plan to continue to do this for a long time.
